What to Expect – Grade by Grade
Starting a new school year comes with a lot of excitement—and a lot of questions. Our “What to Expect” section is here to help!
This resource is designed to give parents and guardians a clear, grade-by-grade overview of important dates, upcoming events, classroom expectations, and helpful reminders. Whether you’re wondering what kind of backpack to buy, when to expect field trips, or what your child needs to wear for the Christmas program, this is your go-to spot.
Each grade level has its own section, so you can easily check back anytime throughout the year. We hope this guide helps your family feel more prepared and connected all year long!

Important Events & Dates
• Grandparents Day – Held in September
• Fall Field Trip – October (wear weather-appropriate clothing and Leedey green)
• Parents are encouraged to attend and help make this a fun and safe day for our students!
• Christmas Program – Students will perform on stage. Please have them wear nice clothes (church attire recommended).
• Students respond so well when someone is there to watch and support them!
• Spring Field Trip – May (wear weather-appropriate clothing and Leedey green)
• Parents are encouraged to attend this field trip as well.
• Movie Theater Field Trip – Students need to bring $5 for the movie and popcorn.
• This is a student-only trip. Parents are not allowed to attend this one.
• Awards Ceremony – May 21
• Please send students in nice clothes (church attire recommended).
• It means so much to the kids to have someone there cheering them on!
• Last Day of School: Fun in the Sun – Send an extra pair of clothes and a towel for outdoor fun and water activities.
Reminders
• School Supplies – Provided by the Leedey Education Foundation (LEF)
Just send:
• A backpack big enough to fit a 3-ring binder
• A sports-top water bottle
